In addition to highlighting the stunning countryside and picturesque villages of the Ribble Valley, this tour includes a ride on the famous East Lancashire Railway and a barge trip on the Lancaster Canal. There is something for our food lovers too, with a Fish & Chip lunch.
Travel
Your comfort is our priority and all travel arrangements have been made with this in mind. Comfort stops will always be planned en route for lunch/refreshments. We will arrive at the hotel in the late afternoon, where your luggage will be taken to your room (unless otherwise specified) and you will have plenty of time to freshen up before the evening meal. Return travel will follow a similar schedule.
Your Hotel: Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Accrington
Conveniently located in central Lancashire this 4 star hotel has been built around a 700 year old country house, with an attractive wooden staircase, chandelier and skylight as a central feature. The hotel underwent refurbishment in 2020 and has an appealing boutique style bar and restaurant enhancing the hotel’s many original features. The leisure centre, where beauty treatments are available (bookable in advance), has a pool and gym. The hotels 175 guest bedrooms were also refreshed and upgraded in 2020 being spacious and well appointed with most bathrooms having shower over bath.

Excursions
All of our excursions are included in the holiday price unless otherwise specified. In addition to the planned activities, most excursions will allow plenty of free time for you to explore our well-chosen destinations. If you prefer to make other arrangements or just relax at the hotel instead of any of the excursions, you are welcome to do so. If so, we kindly ask you to please inform your driver. We will depart after breakfast and return in the late afternoon or early evening, to enable you to freshen up before your evening meal.
