This place has so much to offer for our customers. Today is a free day, giving you the chance to explore at your own free will.
Day 3 - ‘The Loveliest Place in the World’
After breakfast, we make our way to Agatha Christie’s stunning Georgian mansion, Greenway House and Garden, situated in the heart of the English Riviera. The house contains extensive collections belonging to the late ‘whodunnit’ author and her family and it is easy to see why she referred to it as ‘the loveliest place in the world’. Agatha Christie’s boathouse is located on the river bank and was the scene of the crime in ‘Dead Man’s Folly’, the final episode of the television drama, ‘Poirot’, which was filmed here in 2013. Lunch to be confirmed, in the House Kitchen before making our way to Torre Abbey with its prestigious permanent art collection and Agatha Christie’s Potent Plants Display, which is based entirely on sinister horticultural specimens that featured in her novels.
Day 4 - Paignton
After breakfast we board the coach as your driver will take you for a leisurely drive along the Devon coast to visit Paignton. Free time to enjoy at your own pace. Originally a Celtic settlement, Paignton was a fishing village right up until the 19th Century when the harbour was built. The arrival of the railway in 1859 brought crowds of visitors and the town quickly became a favourite tourist destination for the Victorians. Loved for its long sandy beaches, Paignton is a colourful, traditional seaside resort popular for its mild climate and lively seafront. The bustling pier, genteel buildings and streets and sense of class and style make this an English Riviera favourite for generations of visitors. We depart late afternoon for a leisurely drive back to Torquay and the hotel. Plenty of time to refresh in readiness for your evening meal.
Day 5 - Salisbury
After breakfast we depart our hotel and head for Kent. We make a visit to Salisbury, giving you free time to explore, get lunch, or shop. Arriving Kent late afternoon.
