The very north eastern corner of Northumberland, between the historic towns of Berwick-on-Tweed and Alnwick on the Scottish border. It is a designated heritage coastline with a fabulous array of attractions. This is a region bearing testament to bloody battles of centuries long ago. Skim over the sands and causeway to Holy Island, cut off twice-daily from the rest of the world by fast-moving tides. Both an island and a picturesque village, Holy Island contains a wealth of history within it’s tidal walls.
Travel
Your comfort is our priority and all travel arrangements have been made with this in mind. Comfort stops will always be planned en route for lunch/refreshments. We will arrive at the hotel in the late afternoon, where your luggage will be taken to your room (unless otherwise specified) and you will have plenty of time to freshen up before the evening meal. Return travel will follow a similar schedule.

With a sports bar and grill restaurant, this hotel has a fitness centre and modern rooms. Sandman Signature Hotel Newcastle is next to St James’ Park, home of Newcastle FC. The colourful, boutique style bedrooms have large windows, a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, microwave, refrigerator and tea/coffee facilities.

Excursions
All of our excursions are included in the holiday price unless otherwise specified. In addition to the planned activities, most excursions will allow plenty of free time for you to explore our well-chosen destinations. If you prefer to make other arrangements or just relax at the hotel instead of any of the excursions, you are welcome to do so. If so, we kindly ask you to please inform your driver. We will depart after breakfast and return in the late afternoon or early evening, to enable you to freshen up before your evening meal.
