The Dordogne
comes close to offering everything that travellers head to France for… beautiful
chateaux, traditional French gastronomy and landscapes of vineyards, forests
and rivers. Picturesque fortified villages, such as Beynac and La Roque-Gageac
and charming towns such as Sarlat which is our base for the trip. Ascend more
than 80 metres on the Railway of Haut-Quercy with panoramic views of the
Dordogne Valley below. We also head to the Lascaux IV Caves, hidden for more
than 17,000 years housing some of the most complete examples of prehistoric
cave paintings in the world.

delicious cuisine during your stay at La Hoirie. The
hotel restaurant specialises in traditional dishes from the Perigord region and
uses fresh local produce. La Hoirie makes a peaceful base for discovering Sarlat
and its attractive old town, where you can admire magnificent sites such as the
Cathédrale Saint Sardos.

Excursions
All of our excursions are included in the holiday price unless otherwise specified. In addition to the planned activities, most excursions will allow plenty of free time for you to explore our well-chosen destinations. If you prefer to make other arrangements or just relax at the hotel instead of any of the excursions, you are welcome to do so. If so, we kindly ask you to please inform your driver. We will depart after breakfast and return in the late afternoon or early evening, to enable you to freshen up before your evening meal.
