Capture the New Forest’s hidden beauty and escape the cares of the world as you explore the tracts of unenclosed pastures, heathland and forest on this short break. Springtime is the perfect time to travel and see the wondrous florae and wildlife in their natural habitat. Included is a trip to the stunning Exbury Gardens, a spectacular 200-acre site. World-famous for the Rothschild Collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, rare trees and shrubs. This earthly paradise offers a riot of colour in spring, along with a ride on their vintage steam railway.
Your comfort is our priority and all travel arrangements have been made with this in mind. Comfort stops will always be planned en route for lunch/refreshments. We will arrive at the hotel in the late afternoon, where your luggage will be taken to your room (unless otherwise specified) and you will have plenty of time to freshen up before the evening meal. Return travel will follow a similar schedule.
Your Hotel: Grasmere House Hotel, Salisbury
Set in a Victorian country house surrounded by mature gardens on the banks of the Rivers Avon and Nadder. This traditional hotel is a 13-minute walk from Salisbury Cathedral and 11 miles from Stonehenge. There’s a conservatory offering views of the garden, rivers and cathedral.

All of our excursions are included in the holiday price unless otherwise specified. In addition to the planned activities, most excursions will allow plenty of free time for you to explore our well-chosen destinations. If you prefer to make other arrangements or just relax at the hotel instead of any of the excursions, you are welcome to do so. If so, we kindly ask you to please inform your driver. We will depart after breakfast and return in the late afternoon or early evening, to enable you to freshen up before your evening meal.
